POULSBO, Wash. – Led by five Morgan Moniz goals, Bainbridge Island capped its Girls Division II lacrosse season with a 22 – 4 romp over rival North Kitsap, Thursday at Poulsbo’s North Kitsap Stadium to move into a tie for the division lead.

The Spartans, who have come on strong in the second half, reeling-off five straight wins to finish the season with 24 points, now await their seeding fate for the state tournament pending the outcome of Friday’s Mercer Island vs. Lakeside and Issaquah vs. Kennedy games. Mercer Island also has 24 points, while Lakeside and Issaquah each have 22.

Mercer Island can lock up the league title with a win or tie on Friday, while an MI loss will give the Spartans either a two or three-way share of the league title.

The Spartans dominated play almost from the opening draw outscoring the Vikings, 13 – 3 in the first half. In the second, Bainbridge again took up residence on the North Kitsap side of the field finding the net another nine times.
