Washington high school lacrosse scores for Saturday, April 10

Boys Division I

Bellevue boys blank Plano for 2nd Texas lax win
PLANO, Texas – Bellevue High School blanked Plano 11 – 0 for its second boys lacrosse win in its 3-game Texas high school road trip, Saturday at John Clark Stadium in Plano, Texas. The win over Plano, a Texas Division I program made up of students from Vines and Jasper High School in the north Dallas suburb, advanced the first-place Wolverines to 9-2-0 overall. With the loss, the Wildcats dropped to 4 – 8 overall in Texas Division I play. Bellevue dropped its first Texas game to Alpharetta High School on Thursday, then rebounded with wins over Dallas Jesuit on Saturday and Plano on Sunday.

King’s Way lacrosse drops Mukilteo
MUKILTEO, Wash. – Parker Dotsey scored 2 goals and recovered 9 ground balls to lead King’s Way to a Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Mukilteo, Saturday at Kamiak High School. With the win, King’s Way advanced to 4-1-0 for third place in the Southwest Conference. Colin thompson, Jordan Goodspeed and Zach Lindahl all scored two as Mukilteo dropped to 3-6-0.

DII Lynwood lacrosse upsets DI Eastside Catholic
SAMMAMISH, Wash. – Senior captain Trey Knowles scored 4 goals to lead Division II Lynwood to an 11 – 8 boys high school lacrosse upset over Division I Eastside Catholic, Saturday at Eastside Catholic’s Charlie Acosta Field. Sam Girgus had 11 saves in the win, as first-place Lynwood advanced to 6-1-0 on the season. Eastside Catholic dropped to 2-5-0 as Michael Rambaldini led all Crusader scorers with 4 goals and 7 ground balls and Bradnon Veyette had 13 saves.

Boys Division II

Roosevelt lacrosse steals win in Tri Cities
RICHLAND, Wash. – Roosevelt’s Ben Soukup and Connor McCarthy each scored 2 goals as the Roughriders stole a win from Three Rivers, Saturday at Badger Mountain Park in the Tri Cities. The win advanced first-place Roosevelt to 6-1-0 on the season. Austin Wellner had 4 goals in the loss as Three Rivers dropped to 3-3-0.

Wenatchee gets 4th lacrosse win over Seattle’s Franklin High
WENATCHEE, Wash. – Mitchell Parks and Rawley Holmberg each scored hat tricks to lead Eastern Conference leading Wenatchee to a 13 – 1 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Franklin High School, Saturday at Wentachee Valley College. The win lifted Wenatchee to 4-1-0 on the season to lead the three eastern Washington high school programs. Franklin’s Michael Ingles had 6 saves as the Quakers dropped their fifth game of the season.

Garfield gets 3rd lacrosse win at Selah
SELAH, Wash. – Garfield High School secured its third win of the season behind Andy Boelter’s 4 goals and 8 ground balls in a 13 – 6 Boys Division II high school lacrosse victory over Selah, Saturday at Selah High School. Goaltender Danny Strick had 14 saves in the win as the Bulldugs remained in third place in the Metro Conference, two and a half games behind Roosevelt. Nick Frank had 2 goals and 13 ground balls for Selah in their sixth loss of the season.

Girls Division II

Issaquah girls lax 6-0 in win at Wenatchee
ISSAQUAH, Wash. -- Brittany Hogan scored 4 goals and collected 6 ground balls to lead undefeated Issaquah to its 6th win of the season in a 19 – 5 Girls Division II high school lacrosse win over Wenatchee, Saturday at Issaquah’s Beaver Lake Middle School. Callie Hahn had 6 saves in goal for Issaquah. With the loss, Wenatchee dropped to 1-4-0 on the season.

About High School Lacrosse in Washington State
Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. and in Washington State the sport has seen double-digit growth in six of the last eight years. In 2010, over 2,700 high school students representing 83 boys (www.WHSBLA.org) and 55 girls (www.WSLAX.org) varsity and jv teams in eastern and western Washington compete in a nine-week season March – May. The annual Boys and Girls Washington State High School Championships take place in late May.
