King’s Way extends SW conference lead with win over TacomaTACOMA, Wash. – Jordan Goodspeed scored 4 goals as King’s Way extended its Southwest Conference lead to a full game with a 10 – 4 Boys Division I high school lacrosse win over Tacoma, Saturday at Bellarmine Prep High School in Tacoma. With the win, King’s Way is now 7-2-0 overall. Connor McLeod had 2 goals and Zach Fuller had 6 ground balls for Tacoma. The Tacoma high school club slipped to 3-8-0 in fifth place in the Southwest Conference.

Wisman brothers combine for 10 as Northshore drops VashonBOTHELL, Wash. – Brothers Taylor and Foster Wisman combined for 10 goals in Northshore’s 15 – 4 Boys Division I high school defeat of Vashon, Saturday at Bothell High School. Taylor Wisman added 10 ground balls to his 5 goal, 2 assist performance, while Foster Wisman grabbed 4 ground balls on top of his 5 goals and 2 assists. With the win, Northshore advanced to 6-3-0. Luke Humbree had 3 goals and Aaron Bomber had 15 saves in goal for the 1-8-0 Vashon team.

Lakeside boys down Eastside Catholic lacrosseSAMMAMISH, Wash. – Lakeside evened its record at 4-4-0 in a 15 – 12 Boys Division I high school lacrosse defeat of Eastside Catholic, Saturday at Charlie Acosta Field on the campus of the Eastside Catholic School. The Lions are in 7th place in the Northeast Conference, while the Crusaders are in 10th place.

Skyline downs Puyallup for 4th straight lax winBONNEY LAKE, Wash. – Daniel Christianson scored 5 goals and Charlie Engel scored 4 to power Skyline to its 4th consecutive Boys Division I high school lacrosse win with a 14 – 9 defeat of Puyallup, Saturday at Bonney Lake High School. The win advanced Skyline to a 7-5-0 record for 4th place in the Northeast Conference. Jeff Tunsvik had 4 goals and Zach Steedman had 19 saves in goal for Puyallup, which slipped to 6-8-0.

Pedersen’s 2OT goal gives Snohomish 5th straight lax winFRIDAY HARBOR, Wash. – Josh Pedersen scored with 2.44 remaining in the second overtime to give Snohomish a 10 – 9 Boys Division II high school lacrosse victory over San Juan, Saturday at Friday Harbor High School. It was the fifth consecutive win for Snohomish. The winning goal came as Cody Buongiorno fed the ball to Pedersen who beat San Juan goaltender Calen Mayer in the upper left corner completing a hat trick. Laruen Danielson had 16 saves in goal as first place Snohomish advanced to a 10-2-0 (9-0-0 in league) overall record. For San Juan, Forest Dayton and Ryan Guard each had 3 goals and Calen Mayer had 17 saves in goal. San Juan suffered just their second loss of the season but maintained first place in the Skagit Conference.

Sammamish drops Gig Harbor in boys lax
BELLEVUE, Wash. – Alex Cornell scored 5 goals and 3 assists to lift Sammamish to a 16 – 2 Boys Division II high school lacrosse win over Gig Harbor, Saturday at Interlake High School. The win was the 5th straight for second place Sammamish as it chases down Lake Washington for the top spot in the Evergreen Conference. At 9-1-0 Sammamish trails Lake Washington, which also won on Saturday, by a game and a half. Peninsula High School freshman Cody Olson had 2 goals and Aaron Wolfe had 9 saves for 5-6-0 Gig Harbor .

Conference leader Lake Washington downs North Kitsap for 7th straight winKIRKLAND, Wash. – Ben Anderson scored 3 goals to lead Lake Washing to its 7th straight Boys Division II high school lacrosse win with a 14 – 1 decision over North Kitsap, Saturday at Lake Washington High School. The win elevated the Kangs to 10-1-0 (10-0-0 in league) overall and a game and a half lead over an equally hot Sammamish club. Sammamish has won 5 straight. Duncan Hack scored the lone goal for North Kitsap, which lost its 3rd straight.

The win was the second straight for PA, which trails Klahowya by two and a half games in the Olympic Conference. Liberty slipped to 1-9-0.

Si, Saturday at Snoqualmie Middle School. The win elevated Klahowya to a 7-2-0 (7-1-0 in league) overall record for a two and a half game lead in Olympic Conference Play. Henry Owens scored 2 goals and Matt Yan had 14 saves in goal for Mt. Si, has yet to win in 10 Evergreen Conference starts this season.

About High School Lacrosse in Washington StateLacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the U.S. and in Washington State the sport has seen double-digit growth in six of the last eight years. In 2010, over 2,700 high school students representing 83 boys (www.WHSBLA.org) and 55 girls (www.WSLAX.org) varsity and jv teams in eastern and western Washington compete in a nine-week season March – May. The annual Boys and Girls Washington State High School Championships take place in late May.
